Web“Phonemic” refers to the study of specific sound distribution and how they are used in specific languages. “Phonetic” is the study of speech overall, while “phonemic” is the study of specific sounds in certain languages. Webphonetic categories, yet accounts of phonetic category acquisition typically ignore information about the words in which sounds appear.
